We get it – we also enjoy life’s joys of coffee, tea, wine and a myriad of highly staining foods. But over time, our teeth become dull and discoloured.

Brighten your smile with teeth whitening.

At Emu Plains Family Dental, we provide safe and effective tooth whitening. Our whitening gel concentrations are so strong that they can only legally be administered by a trained health professional.

Teeth Whitening Emu Plains

Home Whitening

For home whitening, we make custom trays for your mouth which you wear for 30-60 minutes a night for 10-14 days.

This option is good for people who are disciplined, have experienced sensitivity in the past and is more cost effective. If you experience sensitivity you may simply stop for a few nights before starting again.

The benefit of having custom trays allows you to “top up” your smile down the line. All you would need to do is to replace the whitening gel once finished and brighten your smile.

In-Office Whitening

In-chair or office whitening is a single 90 minute session using a high concentrated whitening gel. It’s perfect for those patients wanting instant and visible results on the day.

To maintain your pearly whites for as long as possible, we recommend a home whitening kit as a supplement to keep your teeth sparkling white.

What do I need to do before whitening my teeth?

Prior to tooth whitening, it is important to ensure your mouth is healthy, and suitable for whitening. Our Emu Plains dentists will assess your teeth to ensure that whitening is your best option.

If there is any plaque or tartar covering your teeth, it’s best to have it removed prior to whitening so you can maximise the benefits.

If you have any deeper stains, fillings, crowns, veneers or inflamed gums, you may not be suitable for whitening and our dentists can advise you of any better alternatives.

Whitening agents unfortunately will not change the colour of fillings, veneers, crowns or bonding. It is important your teeth are assessed prior to whitening, so that there’s no surprises of mis-matching coloured teeth after you whiten your teeth.
